The Department of Political Science, Gyanpeeth Degree College was established in 1993. Gyanpeeth Degree College is affiliated to Bodoland University. It has received Special Central grant in 2009. It is a coeducational Arts College and the Political Science Department has been an indispensible department of the college and is an old department. A large number of students prefer political science as one of the subject of their course every year. In this way, a large number of students have graduated with political science as a subject in their Major Course and Regular/Minor Course.
